In 2024, a significant number of Canadians, approximately one in five, are considering purchasing a home, according to a recent survey by Wahi. The study highlights that individuals under the age of 35 demonstrate the strongest intent to buy, often willing to make lifestyle and work adjustments to realize their homeownership dreams. Some of the sacrifices mentioned include spending less money, working more hours, or engaging in side gigs alongside their primary jobs. The survey emphasizes that despite existing challenges such as high home prices and interest rates, 24% of Canadians aged 18-34 express their intention to buy a home this year.
